Select Board accepts single bid for Fire/EMS records system, approves First Due purchase

Penny Wu told the board the RFP for a Fire and EMS records management system produced only one bid: First Due at $15,400. Chief Ben Whalen described the software as a records management platform that will track incidents, personnel training, vehicle maintenance and EMS medication tracking; he said the purchase was budgeted. Board member Justin Hyjek expressed concern about awarding a contract after a single bid, and Chief Whalen said other vendors had been contacted and that First Due was his first choice.
