Parks & Recreation Director Nick Miele told the Ludlow Recreation Committee the Community Center continues to be consistently busy each weeknight with youth basketball and a slate of adult programming.
"The pickleball group is consistently playing at least 5 times a week and our volleyball group is playing two times a week. Our fitness center continues to be popular as we have a total of 26 members," Miele reported. He also noted the center hosted Boy Scouts meetings, a blood drive, a cooking class and two community meals during January.
Miele said staff are assisting the Black River Valley Senior Center by sharing senior offerings with community members and that the building reliably impresses visitors with how well it is taken care of. The committee discussed continued volunteer support for scorekeeping during youth games and ongoing scheduling coordination for evening programs.
Staff did not propose new fees or staffing changes at this meeting; committee members thanked volunteers and encouraged continued promotion of adult programming.
