Nemaha County used its regular meetings in 2018 to advance long‑term road and bridge priorities. The board adopted and amended the One & Six Year Plan several times and authorized engineering, permitting and right‑of‑way steps for multiple projects.
Key procurement actions included acceptance of a low bid from Midwest Underground for One & Six Year Project C‑64(295) (Nemaha Northwest bridge work) and awarding a contract to JJK Construction for C‑64(203) (culvert/box‑culvert work). For pavement, the county awarded Pavers Inc. the C‑64(307) overlay contract and accepted CBMP (county bridge match program) awards to Contech Engineered Solutions on several small bridge match projects including Gobber’s, M. Caspers and Peru truss projects. The board also awarded a culvert supply bid to Metal Culverts Inc.
The board recorded roll‑call votes and motions for each award, and authorized the chairman and county consultant to sign permits and U.S. Army Corps/NDOT applications as required. Minutes show the board requested further engineering and right‑of‑way action as each project progressed; construction timetables and payment draws were later recorded in meeting minutes and financial claims.
