Transit director seeks city help for operations, plans work session update

Keonte DeJarnett updated the commission on transit operations and said things are "steadily moving in the right direction," while he waits on plans and cost estimates for a proposed tag-office project. He said he hoped to have plans to present next month.
DeJarnett said he planned to meet with the city council at a work session to discuss allocating city funds to help transit operations and potentially partner on a bus purchase. "I will be meeting with the city council on their work session on August 4, at 04:30, to discuss, allocating some funds from the city to kinda help the transit department as well," he said.
He also said staff are exploring advertising opportunities on bus exteriors to generate revenue. DeJarnett asked the commission for continued patience as contractors and staff return from vacations; he said he would bring more complete plans in the coming weeks.
