Commission reviews draft enhanced energy plan and flags language changes

Jeremy told the commission he had made the requested structural change to make "equity" its own subsection and removed text members had crossed out. "I put every single action any town had ever considered listing just as food for thought," Jeremy said, explaining that actions were provided as optional items for consideration. Members asked for clearer language differentiating electricity from other imported fuels after noting the plan at times treats electricity and fossil fuels interchangeably. The town clerk (Town Clerk, S1) and Chair Michael Fowler (Michael Fowler, Chair) both supported explicitly changing the wording to reference electricity in sections that discuss Canadian hydro imports.
Commissioners also discussed resilience and health language. Jeremy asked the commission to provide exact wording for a resilience paragraph; he said he would insert text the commission supplied. He confirmed that electric-sector figures were reported by Efficiency Vermont while thermal and transportation values were model-derived, and agreed to add a short disclaimer noting the numbers are model-based and the best available at publication time.
The commission agreed to continue editing before Jeremy produces graphics for the final draft and aims to complete the plan by May if local edits are finished in time. Jeremy said he would deliver revised text and the electric analysis in early April to keep the May target on track.
