Commissioners approve temporary overlap to smooth county attorney transition

County leaders discussed staffing for the county attorney’s office after the announced departure of a long‑time employee (Corey). The judge said the court’s plan is to budget for two people in the county attorney role for a limited period so a successor can shadow the incumbent. "For 2 months, we would have potentially Corey’s salary almost double, so that we would have somebody shadowing her for October and November," the judge said when outlining the overlap plan.
