Conservation Commission issues enforcement order for unauthorized work at 123 Oak Hill Road

Town staff told the Conservation Commission that a stop-work order had been issued for 123 Oak Hill Road on March 20, 2026, after a proposed conversion and site plan review revealed on-site changes near wetlands and floodplain boundaries. Salem reported that September 2025 aerial images and a recent site visit indicated alteration within 100 feet of Bordering Vegetated Wetlands and the 100-year flood line, and that the on-site tenant confirmed they had made the alteration.
The commission voted 7-0-0 to issue an Enforcement Order requiring a new wetland delineation within 60 days and a remediation plan within 90 days; the order also requires that future deeds or leases include written acknowledgement of the 100-foot buffer. Commissioner Eric Fahle moved the motion, seconded by Marilyn Frank.
