A public‑health presenter updated the board that statewide measles case counts rose to 570 and that Summit County had recorded five cases in the current outbreak. "We're now up to 570 cases in Utah," the presenter said, adding that in March the state averaged about five to seven new cases per day and that roughly 8% of reported cases were hospitalized.
Staff said about 10% of cases were vaccine breakthrough infections but that Utah's MMR administration numbers rose in March, which the presenter described as a positive trend. Board members asked about local wastewater detections and case tracing; staff said a single positive wastewater detection occurred recently at a Silver Creek site but there were not consecutive positives, and there had been no confirmed secondary transmissions in Summit County tied to local exposures.
