At the start of the meeting, Alex Saywers presented recognitions and academic program updates. He noted Maddex Strobel won the 150-pound state wrestling championship, Knowledge Bowl won the regional championship and will compete at state on March 22, and that the district kicked off a Read-a-thon with Silverwood tickets secured for incentives. Saywers also reported a Lands Council grant secured by Mr. McIalwain funded a Mt. Spokane snowshoeing trip for fourth graders, and that Jenna McDonald from the Eastern Washington Health Education Center will host a teddy-bear health clinic for TK–2 students.
