Plan proposes cross-county shuttle, Beverly Hills route realignment and extended hours

The consultant’s presentation listed concrete service changes intended to improve connectivity and respond to outreach requests. The most prominent additions were a Cross County Shuttle (Inverness–Crystal River via Black Diamond Shopping Center), a new jobs-express from Lecanto to the Holder Industrial site, and a realignment of the Beverly Hills route to serve Citrus Springs.
Kayla Hutton said the recommended operating change would replace some 2-hour headways with 60-minute service and extend weekday service to 9 p.m., plus limited Saturday service from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. "Service would run until 9PM and adding a limited Saturday service from 9 to 3PM," she said. Hutton also noted on-demand support in shaded areas (Sugar Millwood, Citrus Springs, Inverness Highland South) and recommended a mobile app and targeted infrastructure to support riders in hot/humid summer conditions.
These service proposals were among the plan’s top-priority projects identified through a mix of public support, ridership productivity analysis and connectivity scoring. The board did not take action on these elements at the meeting; the plan will be forwarded to the Citrus County Board for adoption consideration.
