Superintendent: auxiliary gym nearly complete; summer programs underway

Superintendent John Wyrick told the Labette County USD 506 Board on June 9 that the district's new auxiliary gym is 99% complete and is expected to be ready for use in July.
"The New Auxiliary Gym is 99% complete and hopes to be completed in July for usage," Wyrick said. He also reported 158 students are enrolled in Summer School and 26 students are enrolled in the Summer Compass Academy; Drivers Education and a Summer Weights program are likewise under way. Wyrick said he and Assistant Superintendent Shane Holtzman will attend the Greenbush budget workshop later in the week.
The information was presented as part of the superintendent's regular report; the board did not take formal action on these operational updates during the June meeting.
