Butler County adopts AI use policy for employees
Butler County commissioners voted unanimously to adopt AR-26-01, an Artificial Intelligence Utilization Policy establishing governance, acceptable-use standards, and biannual review to safeguard resident privacy and guide staff use of AI tools.

The Butler County Board of Commissioners unanimously adopted AR-26-01, an Artificial Intelligence Utilization Policy for county employees during its May 5 meeting. County Administrator Will Johnson told the Board the policy "establishes governance, safeguards, and acceptable use standards to ensure AI is used responsibly, securely, transparently, and in compliance with applicable laws and County policies." The commission voted 5-0 to adopt the policy.
