After failed grant, Selectboard urges professional design for library deck

Library trustee Mark Halverson and Librarian Kristine Sweeter told the Selectboard the library did not win a grant to fund a planned addition and that a porch or deck would be a more affordable alternative.
After discussion the Selectboard recommended the library hire a professional designer so incoming construction bids can be compared on the same basis, and Chair Scott M. Reed said he would provide the name of a designer. The recommendation is intended to let the library present standardized drawings when seeking construction bids; no funding commitment for construction was approved at the meeting.
