Wedding-venue conditional-use application tabled after applicant absence

Pam Pirotte’s application to construct and operate a wedding and event venue on a 236-acre AG-80 parcel at 14297 SE Cole Creek Road was called but no applicant or representative was present to address the commission. The commission discussed how to proceed in the applicant’s absence and voted to table the case for 30 days to permit the applicant to appear; the motion to table carried 6-0.

The application proposes a 40-by-50-foot pole barn, parking along an existing drive about 1,000 feet from the county roadway with a golf-cart shuttle to the event site, a maximum of 100 guests, and alcohol service by a licensed bartending company. Staff noted the event area is outside FEMA-mapped flood zones but that parking along the roadway could be impacted by flooding; staff recommended conditions including event end times and a 12-month timeline for building permits. Because the commission acted as a Zoning Board of Appeals later in the meeting, the commission’s action on the tabled case is final for now.
