County planner Shauntice Ridley asked the planning commission to take part in four joint work sessions with the Board of Supervisors to advance the county’s comprehensive‑plan update and outlined nearby public engagement events.
Ridley said the sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026; Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026; Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2027; and Tuesday, Mar. 23, 2027, all at 5:30 p.m. at the Parksley library. She also described three outreach pop‑ups and a May workshop already planned for the following week and said the county had posted information to its website and coordinated with local news outlets.
A commissioner moved that the planning commission participate in all four dates; the motion was seconded and passed on a voice vote. Ridley said staff will provide digital and paper copies of the community engagement flyer and the survey link to commissioners who want to share it.
Next steps: planning staff will proceed with the advertised outreach events and the four scheduled joint work sessions with the Board of Supervisors.
