Staff asked the board to authorize Supplemental Amendment No. 19 to Walker Partners/Flint Nichols JV to provide engineering services for a series of owner‑requested change orders on the phase 2 raw water delivery project. The largest proposed addition is the inclusion of an extra pump for operational redundancy at higher pumping elevations; Roberts characterized it as a sixth pump and gave a ballpark cost for that pump in the $6.5–$7.0 million range for the pump itself while the amendment for engineering services is an hourly contract with a maximum cost of $332,586 funded from the phase 2 contingency.
Other items in the amendment include adding a restroom at the pump station, funding further engineering work for a generator feasibility study, electrical modifications, communications work, and changes to barge decommissioning timelines (Cedar Park’s schedule will be modified rather than the barge being removed). The board moved, seconded and approved the resolution authorizing the president to execute the supplemental contract.
