Tom Brokenberg, Department of Community and Economic Development, gave a live demonstration of the county’s updated mapping platform (presented as ACOMAP/Accomap) and described features staff expect to roll out to the public.
Brokenberg showed an integrated interface that displays aerial imagery with parcel lines, a single‑page search and results view, and new tabs that will list election district, precinct and polling place, representative contacts, school attendance zones, flood‑zone indicators and other planning data. He demonstrated AI‑assisted searches (for example, queries for large sales by acreage or value) and an elevation display powered by LiDAR that he characterized as an approximation for planning purposes, not a substitute for an elevation certificate.
The presenter said the county has tested the beta with staff, will post an invitation for public testing the next day, and plans to route visitors automatically to the new site on April 30 with an option to return to the old site for two weeks; he added the current subscription/paid features will be made free on the new platform and that no new county funds were required for the work.
Board members asked about subscription costs (Brokenberg said the first‑year subscription had been $321 with annual renewals near $107) and whether a mobile app is planned (Brokenberg said there were no app plans but the new site has improved mobile functionality).
