Council issues multiple proclamations and recognizes community groups and officers

At the start of the meeting council presented several proclamations recognizing Juneteenth (06/19/2026), the nation’s semi‑quincentennial, Responsible Fatherhood Month and Pride/Bridal Month. Speakers representing the Daughters of the American Revolution, Cedar Park Bridal and local clergy accepted proclamations and described community activities.
Pastor Josh Robinson and Cedar Park Bridal members recounted relief efforts after local flooding and applauded the city’s public‑safety partnership. "We are so grateful for the contribution of Lieutenant Buchanan and the ways in which he has served this community," said Josh Robinson while recognizing several Cedar Park Police Department officers. The mayor also noted awards to the communications and finance departments announced during closing remarks.
During public communications a hearing‑impaired resident’s remarks prompted a staff update: the city expects to accelerate implementation of a real‑time transcription system aimed at meeting an April 2027 ADA requirement for accessible meeting features.
The proclamations were ceremonial and required no council action beyond presentation.
