The commission found that the house at 300 South Houston meets the criteria for a substandard structure and approved a remediation order requiring that the property be repaired, removed, or demolished within 30 days. Staff displayed photos and described the house as ‘‘completely deteriorated’’ and unsecured; the commission first voted to declare the structure substandard and then approved Option 1, which sets a 30-day remediation window and requires the property remain unoccupied and secured during work.
