The commission welcomed newly appointed members Christopher "CJ" Johnson, Moses, and Steven Flores; appointees described backgrounds in community mentorship, recent civic appointments, and the districts they represent.

The Community Multicultural Commission introduced several new appointees during its meeting. Chair Korshara Prenell asked the new members to state their names and district representation; Christopher "CJ" Johnson said he was appointed by Mayor Hedrick to represent District 8 and noted he recently completed CPA certification and joined a TCO board with the Garland Police Department. Moses described growing up in Garland, mentoring students across six DFW schools (five in Garland) and being appointed by Carissa Dutton.
