County Administrator Patrick Jordan presented a proposal to increase compensation for Ionia County commissioners during the Nov. 26 meeting. Commissioner Gordon Kelley moved to adopt the proposal and Commissioner Larry Tiejema supported the motion; the motion was defeated by voice vote. The minutes record Commissioners Scott Wirtz, Phil Hesche, Jack Shattuck and Terence Frewen as dissenting.
