County Engineer Darrick Anderson presented Resolution No. 07-26 recommending acceptance of completed work and authorization of final payment on Contract 60418, which encompassed projects such as milling, reclaiming and bituminous paving on CSAH 4 and CSAH 52, conversion of a portion of Milton Lake Drive to gravel, paving on CSAH 54 and Bridge 11509 repairs to address erosion and scour, and reclaiming/paving on CR 130.
Anderson told the Board that shortly after the final paving lift on CR 52, pavement flaws were identified. The county and contractor negotiated a cost-sharing arrangement to correct the issues, producing an additional, unexpected taxpayer expense estimated between $10,000 and $15,000. Commissioner Neal Gaalswyk moved the resolution; it was declared adopted with Ayes Haaland, Kangas, Bruns, Gaalswyk and a Nay from Rusty Lilyquist.
