WI interoperability group discontinues MARC2; Ozaukee discusses adding FG GRAY talk group

Joe Laurin relayed information from the Wisconsin Interoperability Group that MARC2 will be discontinued for air-ground communications. The group will designate FG GRAY and 8TACGRAY as the primary air-ground channels and FG BLACK and 8TACBLACK as backups.
Matt Karpinski said the FG GRAY talk groups were already included in new radio programming templates for fire, and the committee discussed adding the talk group to dispatch consoles so air-ground communications use the newly designated channels.
