David said switching the LEC connection to fiber would save an estimated $1,180 per month in recurring costs and provide a redundant internet connection for disaster recovery. "We're expecting to save about $1,180 a month," he said describing the copper‑to‑fiber switch.
The court approved the purchases; the power‑vault vote was recorded 4–0, the wireless APs passed 4–0 and the fiber upgrade passed 4–0. Staff said all purchases are budgeted and will move forward under the county procurement process.
