Superintendent Dr. Josh Byers told county officials the district's capital improvement plan (CIP) remains active across multiple projects, with an emphasis on school safety and deferred maintenance. "The majority of that funding, it comes from both a generous donation from Nevada Gold Mines, to the tune of $1,000,000, and we've also been recipients of 2 different rounds of $500,000 from the COPS grant," Byers said during the presentation.
