Council rescinds 2020 hiring freeze; auditor clarifies backfill rule
Floyd County Council passed Resolution 2025-02 rescinding the 2020 hiring freeze. Auditor Diana Topping clarified that the Council "will not be involved in any backfill hiring if there are no changes," while any new positions or changes must still be submitted to the Council.

The Council approved Resolution 2025-02 to rescind Resolution 2020-04 (the hiring freeze). The motion was moved by Matt Millies and seconded by Dale Bagshaw and passed unanimously during the June 10 meeting.
