The Charles City County Electoral Board recorded that the Local Special Election held April 14, 2026, was certified by the State Board of Elections on April 20, 2026. The board noted separately that certification for the April 21, 2026 State Special Election is being delayed due to a lawsuit filed by the Republican National Committee (RNC).
