Staff explained that the county has been replacing radios for multiple departments and that the recommended purchase would be the last phase to complete replacements. "We have been purchasing radios at a significantly discounted rate through state purchasing and... that is expected to increase here in the near future," staff said, arguing for purchase timing to lock in favorable pricing.
