Planning staff proposes certificate requirement for very small structures in zoning code
Jackson County planning staff proposed amending Article VI, Section 5 to require certificates of zoning compliance for structures 500 sq ft or smaller with value up to $5,000, with no fee; staff and commissioners discussed simplifying proof-of-cost requirements by allowing an applicant affirmation.

Planning/Zoning Administrator Steve Duryea told the board the Commissioners approved a zoning change for Dustin Hoffman from B2 to I1 on parcel 043191-11-0-00-00-003.00 and presented a proposed amendment to the county zoning regulations. Duryea said the amendment would require a certificate of zoning compliance for structures measuring 500 square feet or less and with a value of $5,000 or less, to verify size, value and floodplain compliance; he said no fee would be charged for those applications.
