Staff told commissioners the county received a JEMSA (EMT) grant to fund a basic EMT class and asked the board to accept the funding. The presenter said the county used the grant in the previous two years to run two classes and train 28 students; the next basic class is scheduled for late September.
"We've received this grant for the last 2 years...we put 28 students through it," the presenter said, adding the grant covers textbooks and instructor fees. Staff asked that the board accept the grant and schedule the course timing as planned.
