Commissioners authorize highway grant submission and flag unauthorized camera purchase
Clay County authorized Schwab Eaton project manager Seth Allen to sign and electronically submit a state highway grant application and questioned a $3,935 video camera purchase that was installed without prior Board approval, directing departmental compliance with procurement rules.

Highway Administrator Bobby Shomper updated the Board on March 23, describing routine maintenance and a draft grant application for which local residents Bob and Joe Wietharn asked questions. Shomper said he had forwarded the draft to Seth Allen, P.E., Project Manager, at Schwab Eaton for review. Commissioner Carlson moved to authorize Allen to sign and electronically submit the application to the State of Kansas; the motion passed unanimously.
