On motions recorded during the meeting the board unanimously approved the Flood Preparedness Plan resolution (motion by Steve Marshall, seconded by Clayton Kendrick). The board also unanimously scheduled a public hearing on March 9, 2026 to receive interest in hay cutting at the closed landfill (motion by Steve Marshall, seconded by Rick Swink), and scheduled a joint public hearing on March 9, 2026 for the proposed solar energy facilities ordinance (motion by Clayton Kendrick). The board adopted a Second Amendment Sanctuary resolution by voice vote (motion by Clayton Kendrick, seconded by Steve Marshall). The board approved an easement for Appalachian Power on parcel 4811-42 (motion by Rick Swink, seconded by Jonathan Wood) and appointed Matthew Jones (Peters Creek District) and Dana Martiello (Dan River District) to the Planning Commission after closed-session consideration.
