Supervisors ratified a local emergency declaration Feb. 3 that had been enacted in coordination with the state before a recent snow event. Staff explained the declaration was adopted "in an abundance of caution" so eligible expenses could be reimbursable by state and federal programs if the county incurred significant costs.
"We adopt these and then have them ratified by the board because if we incur significant expenses and it is declared as a state of emergency, those expenses that are eligible could be reimbursed through state and federal sources," emergency staff said. A motion to ratify the declaration was made, seconded and approved by roll call with all supervisors voting yes.
