Kane County adopts resolution backing septic systems for water‑hauling subdivisions
Kane County adopted Resolution R 2026-2 Jan. 13 to express the county's support for allowing septic systems in subdivisions that haul water, citing concern over a Five County Southwest Utah Public Health Board sub-regulation that would bar septic where water access exceeds 180 days per year. At its Jan. 13 meeting, the Kane County Commission adopted Resolution No. R 2026-2 to formally express support for using septic systems in subdivisions that haul water when local regulation permits such systems. Commissioner Celeste Meyeres explained the action grew from a concern about a "hidden sub regulation" in the Five County Southwest Utah Public Health Board rules that could bar septic systems for lots with water access more than 180 days per year.
