Daggett County commissioners voted to approve an assignment order with Jones & DeMille Engineering to perform survey, planning and design work for Sheep Creek Marina improvements.
A county staff member said the U.S. Forest Service has taken the lead on the project and that the county is moving forward with a feasibility and engineering study rather than construction. "The Forest Service has actually taken the lead on it," the staff member said, adding that the Outdoor Rec grant will reimburse up to 75% of eligible costs and that the contract is intended to establish feasibility and approximate costs before any construction work proceeds.
Commissioners discussed ADA access for kayakers and paddle-boarders, floating-dock systems that rise and fall with reservoir levels, and where NEPA review might fit in the schedule. Commissioner (S3) moved to approve the $202,100 assignment order for Jones & DeMille; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
