The Board of Education of Pawnee Independent School District No. I001 met May 12 at the Pawnee High School Media Center and approved a slate of routine and operational items, including facility repairs, surplus property and contract renewals.
Board members unanimously approved a $22,385.00 quote to replace the roof and repair soffits and eaves on the elementary Quad building and a $6,600.00 quote for the football stadium concession stand from Turner Roofing. Gary Vance moved the roofing motion and John Henry seconded; the roll call was Yes: Henry, Waters, Rapp, Higgins, Vance. The board also approved contract renewals for OSSBA Employment Services, OKTLE, ADPC and CCOSA District Level Services for 2026–2027.
Other actions on the consent and business agendas included approving purchase orders and activity fund reports, authorizing the surplus of copiers, buses, old library books and south high school benches, and approving a $4,200 quote from Douglas Welding for an entry and fencing at the agriculture farm. The board authorized purchases of new uniforms for MS/HS teams (softball, basketball, baseball, football, track, cheer and golf) and tabled band uniforms pending additional information. All recorded motions passed on unanimous roll calls.
The meeting concluded with remarks from board members and adjournment at 1:25 p.m.
