The council received a phone presentation from Clayton Scott of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Conservation Service on the Elk Creek watershed project. Scott told councilors that the planning and preliminary phases are 100% federally funded and that implementation would require cost-sharing, typically a 75 percent federal share and 25 percent local share; the exact dollar amount the town would owe would be determined after the planning phase.
