Board upholds high-school disciplinary consequence after executive session
Summary
After an executive session on disciplinary appeals, the Salina Board of Education voted unanimously to uphold the principal's disciplinary consequence for a student. The board met in executive session from 6:49 p.m. to 8:19 p.m.
The board adjourned into executive session at 6:49 p.m. under Okla. Stat. Title 25, § 307(B)(1) to discuss an appeal of disciplinary consequences imposed by the high‑school principal, reemployment of support staff and any letters of resignation or retirement. Those present in executive session included the five board members, Superintendent Earl Dalke, High School Principal Blake Crawford, High School Teacher Lisa Grissom and The Hawks Family.
After returning to open session at 8:19 p.m., the board voted unanimously to uphold the high‑school principal's disciplinary consequences imposed on the student. Minutes state the motion was made by Leroy Monk and seconded by Greg Rice and that no votes were taken during executive session itself.
