Brooks County Commissioners considered a proposal to purchase and install surveillance cameras at the courthouse during the March 22 special meeting. Commissioner Eduardo "Eddie" Garza moved to table the purchase and Commissioner Marty "Martin" Cabrera seconded; the motion to table passed 3–1, with Commissioner Rolando Gutierrez recording the lone No vote.
