Berkeley Group moves to plan-writing phase; staff recruiting environmental planner

Staff told the commission that citizen engagement for the county comprehensive plan has concluded and that consultants The Berkeley Group are now in the plan-writing phase.
"Our consultants, the Berkeley group, are now in the plan writing phase," the Deputy County Administrator said, and outlined a slate of four joint meeting dates with the Board of Supervisors anticipated in August, October, January and March, with a briefing on initial chapters expected the last Tuesday in March.
Staff also said they hope to interview two applicants for an environmental planner position in the next couple of weeks and asked commissioners to refer candidates with Earth-science or environmental backgrounds. The remarks were presented as informational and the commission took no formal action at this session.
