The elementary principals and teachers reviewed vendor demonstrations and pilot materials; the principals then recommended the program and coordinated how materials will be distributed across the three elementary schools. A motion to approve the reading program purchase was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Board members emphasized teacher input and the existing remediation/tiered approaches built into the new program; the program will be rolled out over five years with materials and training included under the quoted cost.
