The Vernon County Board approved multiple personnel policy revisions on Feb. 15 intended to clarify leave rules and administrative authority. Resolution 2024-11 revised Policy 405 (Bereavement) to standardize paid leave guidelines for employees, including allowable relationships and documentation requirements. Resolution 2024-12 amended Policy 409 (Leaves—Emergency Closings) to reflect the Administrative Coordinator’s role in closure decisions alongside the County Board Chair, and to clarify procedures for media notification and department responsibilities.
