Flats south-unit work moving toward construction; EGLE permit limits large dewatering
County and state staff told commissioners the Flats south-unit rehabilitation has been engineered and bid, with Greenscape General Contracting selected and an EGLE permit that allows cofferdam and embankment work without significant dewatering. Roscommon County received an update April 8 on the Flats infrastructure project, which county and state staff expect to begin constructing soon after final preparations. Regional wetland infrastructure biologist Brandy Dybas-Berger told the board the work began with a 2018 engineering study by Wade Trim and the south unit has been contracted to Greenscape General Contracting with Wade Trim serving as project engineer.
