Representatives of the Lord Fairfax Soil and Water Conservation District and Friends of the North Fork presented conservation funding requests to the Shenandoah County Board of Supervisors. Joan Comanor asked for a $3,000 increase to bring the district allocation to $23,000, citing higher workloads and more cost‑share projects; she said roughly 60% of the district’s services are provided to Shenandoah County and clarified the district does not manage private dams.
