Regional Hazard Mitigation planning work begins, EMA director says
EMA Director Brian Smith reported that the consultant hired to prepare the regional Hazard Mitigation Plan has started work and that the project will take several months; he will present options to the Commission for possible future projects to include in the plan.

EMA Director Brian Smith reported to the Commission that "the company hired to prepare the regional Hazard Mitigation plan has begun the work. This project will take several months to complete." Smith asked the Commission to consider options for projects to add to the plan and indicated further briefings will follow as the consultant advances the draft plan.
