County staff report progress on Owasco Lake 9‑Element plan implementation and watershed sampling

Principal Environmental Planner Michele Wunderlich told the committee she finalized the 9‑Element Committee implementation report for 2022–2025, which compiles committee work to move the EPA 9‑Element Plan for Owasco Lake forward. The report is being distributed and is available on the county website.
Wunderlich also reported she submitted a data usability assessment and final report for the FLLOWPA‑funded 2025 Owasco Lake tributary sampling program, participated in Cayuga Lake and NYS Hydrilla Task Force meetings, and is coordinating a Save Our Great Lakes streambank restoration project on Owasco Inlet in the Town of Locke. She noted the SFY 2025‑2026 work plan was approved and that the county expects approximately $8,000 in revenue for 2025 from FLLOWPA activities.
The committee received the update; staff did not request committee action beyond reporting implementation progress and coordination with state partners.
