The constable for Precinct 1 outlined a heavy workload driven by civil process and environmental enforcement cases and requested higher‑capacity communications and surveillance equipment to improve officer safety and efficiency. “We’ve served 600 papers in the first six months of this year ... we’ve done 25 writs ... they always take two officers minimum and we're there in from 2 hours to maybe 4 or 5, 6 hours sometimes,” the constable said, explaining the manpower demands that motivate requests for true mobile car radios (five units) and a drone for property inspections.
