County approves $35,000 design scope with Wold Architects for JDC security systems

She said Wold Architects was selected as the architect on the jail master plan implementation and is already working on the kitchen addition, so staff saw programmatic synergy in having them perform this first-phase work for the JDC.
"What you have in front of you is a design scope with Wold Architects, for $35,000," Melissa said, describing the work as the beginning phase of the surveillance, access control and automation project that was included in the 2026 capital plan. Committee members asked whether the consultant had jail experience; staff clarified the consultant is experienced in justice architecture and security technologies and will get up to speed on Peoria County operations. The committee moved the resolution, clerical changes to the agenda briefing were agreed, and the item passed.
