At the May 4 meeting the Jackson County commissioners approved routine business by unanimous vote. Commissioner Keith Kelly moved to approve the agenda as presented and Commissioner Linda Gerhardt seconded; the motion passed 3–0. The board also approved a Poppy Day proclamation (3–0) and later approved the minutes of April 27 (3–0). Commissioners signed bills for April 30 and payroll for May 1.
The board held two executive sessions during the meeting. The first, begun at 9:48 a.m., was a 10-minute attorney-client session about claims against the county; it closed at 9:58 a.m. with no action taken in open session. A second 10-minute executive session for contract negotiations also ended with no decisions recorded. Commissioners also added Banner Lake Director Kurt Zibell to the agenda to obtain signatures on park-host contracts.
