The board approved the agenda, a Poppy Day proclamation and the April 27 minutes (all 3–0); signed bills and payroll; and held two brief executive sessions (attorney-client claims and contract negotiations) with no open-session actions recorded.

At the May 4 meeting the Jackson County commissioners approved routine business by unanimous vote. Commissioner Keith Kelly moved to approve the agenda as presented and Commissioner Linda Gerhardt seconded; the motion passed 3–0. The board also approved a Poppy Day proclamation (3–0) and later approved the minutes of April 27 (3–0). Commissioners signed bills for April 30 and payroll for May 1.
