Commission approves three reentry grants to support housing, staffing and workforce training

Resolutions authorized submission of a $30,000 landlord incentive grant application to the Mental Health Recovery Board to fund miscellaneous housing costs for justice-impacted clients (Resolution 2026-0151); a $35,952.48 grant submission to United Way of Clark, Champaign, and Madison Counties to cover 50% of the salary and benefits for a Reentry Specialist (Resolution 2026-0152); and a $3,200 grant submission to Young Woman’s Mission to fund workforce certification and housing readiness classes (Resolution 2026-0153).
The measures aim to reduce barriers to stable housing and employment for justice-impacted individuals by supporting landlord incentives, staffing capacity and targeted training. Each grant submission was authorized for the County Administrator to execute.
